Valley of the Sun Bowl Set for Saturday, Dec. 7

(SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Dec. 2, 2013) – If you’re looking for an affordable college bowl experience this holiday season come on out to Scottsdale Community College Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013 and watch the Valley of the Sun Bowl.

The game pits the no. 4-ranked SCC Fighting Artichokes against 19th-ranked Dodge City Community College (Kansas) Conquistadors.

Kickoff is at 2 p.m. at SCC’s football stadium, 2000 E. Chaparral Road, Scottsdale, AZ. Admission is $8 for adults and $5 for kids 12 and under. Tickets can be purchased at the gate.

The Fighting Artichokes won the Western States Football League Championship and league play with a 9-1 overall record. The Conquistadors finished with a 6-3 record and placed second in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference.

Started in 1981, the Valley of the Sun Bowl is hosted by the WSFL team with the best record.

The pre-game ceremony begins at 1:30 p.m. and features the Salt River High School JROTC presenting Colors and SCC Music students singing the national anthem.
