SCC Opponent Named in Valley of the Sun Bowl

(SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Nov. 13, 2013) — The no. 4-ranked Scottsdale Community College football team will face 19th-ranked Dodge City Community College (Kansas) in the Valley of the Sun Bowl Saturday, Dec. 7. Kickoff is at 2 p.m.

valleyofthesunbowl-logo (1)The game pits the Fighting Artichokes, which won the Western States Football League Championship and regular season play with a 9-1 overall record, against the Conquistadors, which finished with a 6-3 record and placed second in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference.

Started in 1981, the Valley of the Sun Bowl is hosted by the WSFL team with the best record.

“As a team, we have accomplished what most would have said was improbable,” said SCC Head Coach Doug Madoski, now in his 9th year at the school. “In order for us to finish strong, we need to find a way to make sure that we win this game.”

Admission to the bowl game is $8 for adults and $5 for kids 12 and under.
