As much as 70% of water used in a school or a house goes to watering plants outside.1 While the City of Scottsdale continues to struggle for water in the midst of a long-term drought, SCC is determined to contribute to the conservation effort.
SCC is in the process of converting 93,500 square feet in the southwest corner of campus to drought-tolerant xeriscape. This transition will reveal the natural beauty of the desert with a colorful array of native plants, and it is expected to save as much as 290 million gallons of water per year at SCC! 2
