Written by Liz Duffy Adams, the play follows the adventures of Zetta Stone, a traveling performer, and her companion Dog (a young man undergoing a voluntary species demotion) as they wander through the former northeastern United States. Zetta, Dog and their little troupe are on their way to a gig in China, assuming they can find it…and survive the journey. A theatrical, darkly comic variation on the classic doomsday genre, with five original songs.
The student cast is led by guest director Jodie Weiss, who works at Childsplay where she has been: an actor, a teaching artist, a director, and is currently their Special Events/Volunteer Coordinator.
Jodie has directed and acted with a variety of theatres around the Valley including; Stray Cat Theatre, Southwest Shakespeare Company, Scottsdale Community Players, Greasepaint, Childsplay, Phoenix Theater, and the Hale Theater Center – Elsewhere at The Globe, San Diego Rep, La Jolla Stage Company, Oregon Cabaret Theater, and Starlight Musical Theater.
