It has begun!
Arriving on campus this week you may have noticed that most of the library is fenced off. Along with the rest of the library the bathrooms are no longer accessible, and demolition has started. We will try to keep you updated on progress and provide photos if and when possible.

Welcome Back!
The Spring 2013 semester is upon us and the library has moved into its temporary location in the Student Center’s Peridot Room.
Due to size constraints in our temporary headquarters the library is open for research help from a librarian, checking in/out books, and making copies.
Sadly,we do not have enough room for study space or computing. Here are the locations of other computer labs on campus:
The Writing Center, LC-379, 480.423.6416
Social/Behavioral Learning Center, SB-158, 480.423.6223
Student Tech Center, IT-100, 480.423.6261
Remember you can also get chat or text help from a librarian on the left side of the library homepage.
Storage?!?!
If you are searching for a book in our catalog and come across a status of storage you may wonder what that means. A book in storage means that we won’t have access to it until the library reopens in its newly renovated space.
Here is an example of a book in storage when using our catalog:
Here is what it will look like if you are using the main search on our homepage:
So what can you do about it? Come and talk to a librarian. We will look into other ways of getting the book for you. Maybe we will have it as an ebook or maybe we can borrow it from another of the Maricopa Community College Libraries. Regardless, we will do our best to make sure we get you what you need.
Changes are afoot
You may have noticed the look of the library shifting over the course of the semester. If you haven’t yet noticed you will definitely see some changes over next few weeks.
The library remodel is going to be a big project, so big that it requires us to move into a smaller, temporary location. As a result, half of our books are being moved into storage. But don’t worry! We can still get books from the other nine Maricopa Community College Libraries.
You will also notice that the library may be a little louder on November 30th as some of our book shelves are being removed so they can be set up in our temporary location.
