Progress reports for 7/2/14 and 7/9/14

Highlights from DLR Group’s Field Observation Reports 45 and 46:

  • The painter is coating the interior walls that will be behind the interior glazing panels
  • The chilled water lines are being flushed
  • The sprinkler line has been relocated so the outside air supply duct can be installed in the south mechanical room
  • Work to install the acoustical ceiling grid installation is continuing
  • The plywood wraps for the existing columns at the classroom walls are in place
  • The exterior glazing panels are installed along the north and south side
  • The application of the interior paint is progressing behind the completion of the drywall
  • The installation of the linear diffusers in the Tectum ceiling has been completed –
  • Installation of the air intake and return air duct to the AHU is in progress in both mechanical rooms
  • The electrical contractor has installed the pendant light fixtures over the stacks area
  • Work to install the acoustical ceiling grid installation is continuing with work at 90% completed
  • Work to install the metal panel ceiling grid in the lobby is in progress
  • Work to install the light fixtures and the mechanical trim in the grid ceiling is in progress throughout
  • The gypsum ceiling in the IDF is in place and the tape and coat has been done
  • Work to install the interior steel sill plate over the benches in the study rooms along the north side have been done
  • Installation of the stack shelving has been largely completed with some of the bottom shelves, end panels and top trays removed for access to the electrical for installing the light fixtures

Progress report for 6/25/14

Highlights from DLR Group’s Field Observation Report 44:

  • Work on the gypsum drywall is continuing with activities in progress to coat/touch-up the walls/ceilings in the classrooms, study rooms
  • End 2 End is continuing work on the network cabling through the floor boxes
  • The completion of the installation of the linear diffusers in the Tectum ceiling is pending the delivery of the balance of the materials
  • Welding on the chilled water lines in the north mechanical room has been done – installation of the supply air duct from the new air handlers has been done
  • The acoustical ceiling grid installation has begun in the south corridor, circulation area, classrooms and staff break room
  • The Tectum ceiling over the stacks area has been completed and painted
  • Work to hang the gypsum ceiling in the IDF is in progress
  • The exterior glazing panels are installed along the north and south side
  • The interior glazing channel are in place and flush to the gypsum
  • Work on the aluminum storefront to repair items observed during last week’s site visit are in progress
  • Work to install the interior steel sill plate over the benches in the study rooms has begun – the reveal along the front edge is being covered by the plate
  • The carpet will be installed and properly oriented at areas to receive the stacks shelving so work on the shelving can resume next Monday

Progress report for 6/18/14

Highlights from DLR Group’s Field Observation Report 43:

  • Work on the gypsum drywall is continuing with activities in progress to coat/touch-up the walls/ceilings in the classrooms, study rooms and the perimeter soffits
  • End 2 End is continuing work on the network cabling throughout
  • The installation of the linear diffusers in the Tectum ceiling is approx. 75% completed
  • Welding on the chilled water lines in the north mechanical room – extending the connections to air handler unit #2 – ongoing work
  • Work to install the Tectum to the plywood ceiling over the stacks area has been completed
  • The painter has applied the first color coat to some of the walls at the circulation desk
  • The exterior glazing panels are installed along the south side
  • Work on the exterior aluminum storefront is in progress
  • Work to install the interior steel sill plate over the benches in the study rooms has begun
  • The Nana wall glass panels have been delivered to the site

Progress report for 6/11/14

Highlights from DLR Group’s Field Observation Report 42:

  • Work on the gypsum drywall is continuing with activities in progress to reinstall the cementitious backer board for the ceramic tile in the restrooms, tape and coat the walls/ceilings in the classrooms, study rooms and the perimeter soffits
  • The electrical contractor has installed the sleeves for the cabling through the ceiling in the IDF room
  • End 2 End is continuing work on the network cabling over the north study rooms
  • The mechanical sub has begun the demolition work for the relocated air duct through the soffit to the north mechanical room
  • Installation of the linear diffusers in the Tectum ceiling is in progress
  • Welding on the chilled water lines in the north mechanical room – extending the connections to air handler unit #2
  • Work to install the Tectum to the plywood ceiling over the stacks area is continuing at approx. 95% installed
  • The painter is continuing to apply the primer as the gypsum walls are prepped at various areas throughout the building
  • The contractor has to install a 4” sleeve with bushings in the NWC of the ceiling and a 2” sleeve over the existing panel mounted on the southeast wall.
  • Work to hang the gypsum ceiling in the IDF has started
  • The ceramic tile installation is continuing with work on the wall completed in the staff restrooms
  • The exterior glazing panels are installed along the south side

Progress report for 5/28/14

Highlights from DLR Group’s Field Observation Report 40:

  • Work on the gypsum drywall has resumed with activities in progress to hang gypsum board and tape and coat the walls/ceilings in the classrooms, study rooms and the perimeter soffits
  • The electrical contractor is working on the installation of the pin lights for the openings in the acoustic walls
  • The flexible duct tie-ins to the linear diffusers around the perimeter of the circulation area have been done
  • The mechanical sub is working in the east corridor to relocate the thermal unit to provide clearance to the controls
  • Welding on the chilled water lines in the south mechanical room – extending the connections to air handler units #3 and #4 – install thread-o-lets for the gauges is ongoing
  • The plumbing subcontractor has repaired the drain line from the existing restroom and the trench has been filled in.
  • The exterior portion of the sill for the glass walls is due to be installed this week
  • Work to install the tectum to the plywood ceiling over the stacks area is in progress
  • Painting the interior concrete columns has been completed
  • Work on the conduit for the controls wiring over the restroom hard lids is in progress
  • The painter has begun to apply the primer to the walls at the entrance, tech services, staff and circulation areas
  • The grid for the gypsum lid in the IDF room has been installed and the electrical sub is roughing in for the lights and ceiling mounted power receptacles

Highlights from DLR Group’s Field Observation Report 37:

  • Work on the roof includes – application of the mesh tape and coating to the seams of the metal roof panels and on the upper roof area above the clerestory windows
  • Work on the gypsum includes – hang board on the walls and ceiling in the classrooms – touch up tape and coat the walls at the reserve/technology area
  • Work on the insulation for the domestic hot water lines is in progress at the student restrooms
  • Work on the fire sprinkler system is continuing throughout the building
  • Plastic sheathing has been installed along the north and south exterior walls to close in the building
  • Work to remove the existing roof drain along the east entrance has begun
  • Work to pull the fire alarm cabling is in progress
  • Mechanical work in progress includes; – the flex duct tie-ins to the linear diffusers around the perimeter of the circulation area – duct connections over the student restrooms and classrooms
  • Welding on the chilled water lines in the south mechanical room – extending the connections to the air handler units
  • Painting of the waffle slab appears to be complete and the painter has removed the masking from the exposed drain lines and water pipes and is currently painting them by brush

Highlights from DLR Group’s Field Observation Report 36:

  • The linear diffusers are being installed around the perimeter of the circulation area
  • Welding on the chilled water lines along the north and east sides has been completed and the lines have been tested – current work in progress includes pipe insulation and extending the connections to the air handler units in the south mechanical room
  • Painting of the waffle slab appears to be complete and the painter is removing the masking from the exposed drain lines and water pipes
