“I’ve DJ’d for two years and just one class session over bars, beats, and measures has dramatically improved my mixing and sound. Just this lesson, in my eyes, made the class pay for itself.”
— DJ Mike Leslie
Scottsdale Community College (SCC) has a tradition of being different, such as its artichoke mascot, or being located on a Native American reservation. Because students don’t expect a traditional public college to offer accredited DJ classes, the DJ program is consistent with SCC’s tradition of being different. DJ course credits transfer to major universities, such as ASU, UA, and NAU, as elective credit.
Because DJ’s “perform” tracks, this program should not be confused with radio broadcast DJ’s and personalities who “present” music and generally employ different skills.
If you have a sense of rhythm and love music, then this program is for you.
